Many of us see Livermore Valley only as we are rushing on busy Interstate 580..Thats too bad because if you get off the freeway, slow down a little bit you will find a beautiful town with bucolic back roads & World class Wineries. Nestled in the rolling hills of ths easternmost city in the Bay area lies the Purple Orchid Inn.
The Purple Orchid Inn & Resort is a rustic yet elegant 9,000-square foot log structure located in the San Francisco East Bay serving as a Local Day SPA & B&B in the Pleasanton, Livermore, Dublin, San Ramon & Brentwood Communities.
Opened as a 9,000 square foot log cabin with eight guest rooms, a pool and a small spa area, the Inn has expanded to feature 10 Guest rooms and suites, a conference center, a Couples Massage room - Sera Festino, an 18 acre olive ranch and six individual spa treatment rooms. It offers fully cooked breakfasts and VIP access to golf outings and wine tours.
When the Purple Orchid Inn Resort, Spa and Conference Center opened its doors in 1997, it changed the landscape of the Livermore Valley and, in conjunction with the Valley's booming wine industry, helped to create "Destination Livermore."
A LIVERMORE Landmark, CA
"In just a short time, The Purple Orchid Inn has become a Livermore Valley landmark and a hub of local activity from business meetings, to personal retreats, to spa days to weddings," said Dale Kaye, President of the Livermore Chamber of Commerce. "The Purple Orchid Inn has earned its place at the forefront of our business community."
"I would personally like to Thank you for hosting my Son and our Family's Wedding this year at the Purple Orchid Inn. The Purple Orchid Inn remains a study in juxtapositions: rustic yet elegant, massive yet delicate, sensual yet practical. The Purple Orchid Inn was inspired by Eastern teachings and by feng shui masters skilled in influencing energy and harmony through architecture, decor and landscaping.
The concept in 1997 was to create a place of wellness with nourishment for the heart, body and soul. Our guests are hard working high achievers who need a place to relax and recharge, and that has been our mission. The core concept remains, but over the years at the Purple Orchid Inn, we have learned a lot about listening to the needs of our patrons.
We are the perfect DAY SPA getaway in the Tri Valley area.

How We Got Our Name
The name "Purple Orchid Inn" was inspired in part by the Orchid Ranch in Livermore and its purple philansopsis varialts, found only there. Every room, every meal, every spa treatment and every event attempts to combine the heritage of the Livermore Valley with the teachings of Feng Shui (pronounced fung shway) Masters skilled at influencing energy and harmony through architecture, decor and landscaping. We hope our guests are enriched and rejuvenated through our spirit of wellness and the nourishment we offer for the heart, body and soul.
WASHINGTON D.C., November 24, 2008 -- Purple Orchid Inn Resort & Spa has been selected for the 2008 Best of Livermore Award in the Bed & Breakfasts category by the U.S. Local Business Association (USLBA).
Our Purple Orchid Hospitality Philosophy
Our staff believes that each guest should leave the Resort completely satisfied with their experience. It begins with the sights, sounds & smells of the facility once you enter the winding driveway. And it continues as you leave your worries behind knowing that you are surrounded by 22 acres of Olive trees & rolling hills. A calm serenity prevails for even the most worn out traveler.
Attention to detail is evident everywhere; From the carved wooden Guestroom doors, the fountain in Front and the waterfall outback, the smooth contours of the swimming pool, and in the abundance of flowers and plants. Ivy and ferns spill from pockets in the stone entryway wall, original artwork and lithographs adorn almost every room, painted vines twine through the dining hall, rose bushes line the back walkways as they adorn the trellis fences providing you the Perfect unique backdrop to your Special Event.

Dear Matt Manos the Innkeeper, Jessica Lack the Wedding & Events Coordinator, and Kaushik & Bhervi Banerjee the proprietors,
This summer was the delight of my wifes and my lives. Our son, Todd, and our daughter-in-law, Margaret, were married at your fabulous Purple Orchid Inn, Resort & Spa. We reserved the entire inn for the weekend. Margarets family was arriving from Tennessee. The resort made us feel as though we were on a private island in the South Pacific. Barbara and I have attended many weddings. Until now even our best memory of a superb ceremony and reception had been colored by one or two slip-ups. Certainly they were not too obvious to the guests. The brides, however, usually have higher standards after months of detailed planning.
Margaret saw to it that she and Todd took dancing lessons before the big event. She commissioned Todd to design and coordinate the graphics for the invitations, menus, responses and yes, even the particular Near East parchment on which the ceremony was printed. I believe she left no detail untouched. She said, We are going to do this only once and I want everyone to think it was a perfect evening.
With Jessicas and Matts penchant for checking every detail, checking again, and then reviewing it with the Banerjees before reporting to Margaret there was no room for disappointment. Your inherent ability to anticipate potential problems as they might arise placed the Purple Orchid a cut above anything I have ever seen. When it was time for the ceremony you and your staff and consultants disappeared into the background and proudly watched over every detail of a perfect evening. Your dedication to the success of the evening was nothing short of phenomenal.
So many people, friends, and family have complimented us and the wedding party on the amount of just plain fun they had at the Purple Orchid. It seemed to be a wonderful dream that was over far too soon. The family from Tennessee were very pleased with their introduction to California and to the Livermore Valley. They have promised to return.
Please accept my sincerest thanks for a very professional and happy solution to the greatest challenge a bride and groom might ever face.
Cordially,
Marshall Kamena, Mayor
City of Livermore

Hello Kaushik,
I wanted to express our appreciation for a fantastic wedding weekend at the Purple Orchid. The setting is beautiful, the facility is first class and the staff was instantly available for our every need. They made us feel like we were at their home rather than at a boutique hotel. Matt in particular made us feel like he was our personal assistant and thus became a friend to us all.
Having all the family stay at the Purple Orchid for the 4 days turned the wedding into an event. There are no other hotels in Livermore Valley that can provide such an intimate setting and where both families can stay and really get to know each other. The rehearsal dinner on the patio was beautiful, the food fantastic and all of us are still talking about the parties around the pool.
Please congratulate the staff for their great service. Well be back to stay even if for only a romantic weekend. Next time Ill personally take advantage of the spa as well.
Sincerely,
The Owen Family, July 4th. 2008
