Hailed as the \”world\’s fastest rodeo\”, the Livermore Rodeo began in 1918. The country was in the middle of World War I and the Red Cross desperately needed money. A few of the Livermore stockmen got together and decided that a rodeo would be great way to earn money for the Red Cross. And our Livermore Rodeo was born! The success of the first rodeo was so great that it\’s been a time-honored tradition in our town ever since. Here\’s our favorite things about the \”world\’s fastest rodeo\”!
1. Livermore Rodeo continues to give back.
Even to this day, the Livermore Rodeo Foundation continues to donate to organizations around Livermore! They have distributed over $100,000 to local organizations in need. The Livermore Rodeo Foundation also partners with the Livermore 4-H, the Livermore High School Agriculture program and much more. They even have a college scholarship opportunity available! The Livermore Rodeo Foundation is passionate about keeping the spirit and hope of the first Livermore Rodeo alive.
2. Livermore Rodeo is all about families.
Two days before the rodeo, on June 7th, the Livermore Rodeo holds Family Night. Grab your little buckaroos and enjoy $1 hot dogs and $1 sodas! It\’s a fantastic place to enjoy the fun with your little ones. Watch wild cow milking and a team roping event. There\’s sure to be lots of silliness as well!
3. Livermore Rodeo is full of exciting events!
With incredibly fun events like bull riding, steer wrestling, barrel racing, team roping and more, Livermore Rodeo is an event that will be talked about for years to come.
