Livermore’s wineries have risen to prominence thanks in large part to our pioneering vintners, like Retzlaff Vineyards and Estate Winery. Retzlaff Vineyards follows the tradition of many Livermore wineries: it is family operated, situated on 14 pristine acres in the historic Livermore Valley. Planted in 1976 by Robert and Gloria Taylor, Retzlaff Vineyards began producing commercial wines and opened a tasting room in 1983. Retzlaff was one of just five wineries in Livermore at that time. Roberts Taylor’s sons, Noah and Aaron, began their journey in the family business in 1985.

Beginning in 1989, with its Cabernet, Retzlaff Vineyards wines have regularly received recognition for excellence: from the California State Fair to the Napa Valley Appellation Tasting, the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition and Sunset Magazine International Wine Competition.
Award-winning Retzlaff wines include the Cabernet, Estate Merlot, Merlot Blend, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and even a Port.

Thanks to acclaimed vineyard manager Jose Hernandez, Retzlaff has been praised for beautifully tended vineyards and healthy, established vines. The grapes are all grown organically, and all wines are bottled on the estate from those on-site grapes.
In addition to the 30-year-old vines, Retzlaff boasts 100-year-old pepper trees. You can relax in their shade, share a picnic, and really drink in your surroundings. Even better, the grounds are family- and pet-friendly.
Tasting Room hours: noon-4:30 daily, closed Wednesdays. Reservations required for groups of eight or more. Group tasting fee applies.

Special Reserve Tasting: $20.00: The special reserve tasting includes a selection of four of Retzlaff’s finest reserve wines. The best of the best! (Reserve tasting fee refunded with a purchase of $100.00 or more.)
